THE FOREST NEEDS YOU—RIGHT NOW
The ink is dry on a landmark agreement between Madison and Drew University to preserve an intact. forest that is critical for aquifer recharge and remarkable for its biodiversity.
The terms include $5 million in private funding, which must be quickly secured. To make that happen, generous donors have stepped up with a challenge. Any donation made—right now—will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to an aggregate of $2.5 million.
We’re working to secure this critical private philanthropy with the Community Foundation of New Jersey as our fiscal partner.
We’re not professional fundraisers. We’re ordinary citizens who believe that, with spirit and conviction, anything is possible. But the clock is ticking. We can’t save the Drew Forest without you.

What we’ve spent the last 5 years doing!
The Friends of the Drew Forest is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by environmental leaders from Madison and neighboring towns, dedicated community volunteers and Drew University alumni.
Our vision is that the Drew Forest Preserve will be permanently protected as open space through a conservation sale that will strengthen Drew University and its financial future while securing the Forest for student and public use.
